NEMBE CORP MEMBERS MEET THE KING OF NEMBE KINGDOM

NEMBE CORPERS AT NEMBE KINGDOM
AT NEMBE KINGDOM HALL

Youth ever taking heed to the clarion call
In his sharp terrors voice cried the public relation officer.
Attention!  Attention!!  Attention!!! All ear alert
Shall we heed this majesty’s invitation!
So we marched flying off our prestigious head dressing
With so much adoration admirers turned to look
As we arrived in the midst of dames and nobles
In a sixteen feet tall and many meters wide building
Decked with historical educative works of art
At the platform sat the chiefs high and lofty
Richly clad in their colorful indigenous dresses
Gongs and drums laid neatly on the floor aside
Awaiting the touch of the melodious music makers
Seated forward in khaki were the erudite organization delegates
From the heart of northern Nigeria they had journeyed
With a rare victual of honor conferment prepared for the king
The daughters of the land cheerful faced
In immaculate white blouses and double wrappers
Head gears dazzled like young egrets in motion
We settled to await the arrival of his eminence
And boom! The music went off with the king in sight
The sceptre and flag went before him and their bearers

All arose in honor of the distinguish guest
Clothed in fine near scarlet royal attire
With a rich red head dress signifying his highness
Chains of bead dangled down his neck covering his chest
Head hoary and face placed the nature of a sage
The speaker announced the entrance of the king and others
And his titles read off in voice unwavering
Dr Edmund M. Dogaura Mingi the XII Amanyanabo of Nembe kingdom
Former Minister of petroleum Resource Nigeria
Former Chairman of OPEC West Africa
Epitome of excellence, a youth motivator
Applauses hesitated not to follow each declaration
Young erudite delegate in his well fitting khaki
Stood to unveil their identity as well l as state their mission
In voice sound and clear like the cry of Achilles in battle he read
To the left and right high up on the wall were drawing
Of heroes past, their inventions and attainments.
At the front behind the king and his council laid
The drawing of the Nembe warship of old
A dozen men paddling steadily to the left
Beneath a raised roof of thatch and canvas
Decorated with triangular pieces of cut cloth of many colors
They sailed fearlessly, ascending into better
A great kingdom seated at the middle of the waters
All protocol duly observed and all well settled
The king, eloquent in speech, excellent decorum
A scholar of scholars showcase his long years of learning
Speaking and addressing, from experience and observation
Then youth, the chiefs, men and women alike like a father
Urged everyone to prove themselves before the Almighty
To retain their culture and uphold the ancient landmarks
A long speech rich in historical facts and events
Ended at last with applauses of gratitude
And off again he went on his own native tongue
A fascinating language with its forceful and beautiful rhythm
The Ezon language would make a strange smile
Again the music erupted in a new dimension
The daughters of the land arose to play
Gently moving their tall back finely built figures
They moved with grace as to express their innate art paddling
From the right to the left and from the left to the right
As those on the waters in canoes navigating
It was time for the king to bid us farewell
“Noa O’ Mingi Amanyanabo” the music resounded
The royal bell announcing the King’s departure rang
Dangling from a long metal pole of a sizeable diameter
This rested vertically on the shoulders of two men
Eached clothed in large wrapper toppled with long loose shirts
Felt shod in shoes of soft leather and harts over their heads
The sons of the land had all come in this manner
Saying goodbye to the king as well as all dismissed.
